The following page contains information on how to best care for your Dirty Catz Kandi Collars!
You will see this over and over in the following topics, but plain old water and a mild dish soap are pretty much your best friends for all my care methods!
Clean your kandi collar by wiping down with a damp soft cloth, with or without soap. Your collar can be submerged in water to clean and rinse. Please avoid the use of any solvents or chemicals as collars typically contain both Swarovski crystals as well as sterling silver/24K gold accent beads and chemicals/solvents can damage their finishes. Lay collar flat to dry on a cloth or towel.
Mild glass cleaner can be used on your crystals to remove any stubborn fingerprints or dirt spots. Apply with a Q-tip and rub in a circular motion. There is no need to rinse your collar after cleaning the crystals as you should not be dripping glass cleaner on the beaded base. If you prefer to rinse your collar after cleaning the crystals, simply run it under cool water to wash away any residue. Lay flat to dry on a cloth or towel..
Ribbons and D-Rings
The D-Rings on your collar are sturdy and will not break. They should not require much in the way of cleaning either. A wipe down with a damp soft cloth, with or without soap, will work nicely. For dirty ribbon, place collar in a sink of cool water. Soak the ribbon until it is fully wet, then add a little soap. Rub soap in with your fingertips. For stubborn dirt, use an old soft bristled toothbrush and scrub in a circular motion. Rinse clean under cool water from the tap. Lay flat to dry on a cloth or towel.
